Rules on Keeping Chickens

Be sure to check the local council rules on keeping chickens in your local area, if you live in an urban environment there are sometimes rules banning roosters due to the noise, though not necessarily, and also sometimes rules on how many chickens you can keep, in how big a space, so be sure to check before you get your chickens!

It would also be advisable to talk to you neighbours before getting the chickens, if they live close, that way they won't complain when you get them, and will know where to return any chickens that have strayed into their backyard to. If you can get your neighbours on side it can also be very helpful if you want to go away and need someone to look after your chickens.
